The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has published the preliminary findings of its mission to Andorra as part of the 2026 Article IV consultation, noting that the country’s economy has shown robust growth in recent years.
According to the international institution, economic activity has been driven mainly by the services sector, tourism, construction and financial services. The report also indicates that the labor market is close to full employment, reflecting the solid performance of the economy.
Regarding the financial system, the IMF highlights that the Andorran banking sector maintains high levels of capital and liquidity, along with strong financial results The institution notes that financial institutions remain in a solid position and continue to play a key role in the country’s economy.
The document also identifies several medium-term challenges for the Andorran economy, including the need to advance structural reforms, promote economic diversification, and address issues such as housing affordability, population ageing, and adaptation to climate change.
