With Andorran Banking’s donation, the Andorran Committee of UNICEF has transformed a financial contribution of €6,000 into a solidarity action that will change thousands of lives. The ‘Gifts that save lives’ initiative has made it possible to provide protection, dignity and hope to vulnerable communities in the most critical contexts.
The impact of this partnership with Andorran Banking is reflected in tangible results:
- Medical protection and vaccines: 200 packs of tuberculosis (BCG) vaccines have been distributed, protecting 4,000 children against a deadly disease.
- Emergency feeding: 50 food rations have ensured immediate sustenance for 50 severely malnourished children.
- Access to safe water: 3 hand pumps have provided sustainable access to safe water for entire communities.
- Health care: 50 first aid kits ensure immediate medical responses in critical situations.
- Dignity and hygiene: 78 hygiene kits have restored dignity and normality for families who have lost everything.
‘Thanks to the support of Andorran Banking, we have been able to transform solidarity into concrete action. Every gesture adds up, and this one has shown that together we can make a real difference,’ said UNICEF President Marianela Vila.
Andorran Banking General Manager, Esther Puigcercós highlights the continued commitment to UNICEF: ‘We are very pleased to maintain this collaboration with UNICEF for the ninth consecutive year. We firmly believe that financial institutions have a social responsibility, and this collaboration is a tangible manifestation of our aim to make a positive difference to the world’.
